History of White Sails

The gallery opened in 2001 and has been steadily increasing its reputation ever since. There were two main aims. The first being to provide locals with somewhere to buy high quality artwork without having to pay 'gallery' prices, and the second was to create somewhere where holiday makers could buy images to remind them of their wonderful holiday on the South Hams.

The idea of celebrating the beauty of the area, and thus promoting Dartmouth and all of its surroundings has remained at the fore ever since. Many local artists have been enlisted to capture the scenery using many different mediums, includung watercolours, oils and photographic work. Nigel Evans

Nigel focuses on photographic work and has produced many stunning images of Dartmouth and local areas of interest. His work has been used for many magazines including the local tourism brochure, we are very pleased and very lucky to have his works on our walls.

John Rudkin

John is an incredibly gifted artist, painting mainly in watercolour he creates paintings which leave their audience captivated for hours on end. His work is available as originals or prints in a variety of formats.
